Sixpoint Brewery

Established in 2004 in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, Sixpoint Brewery brings a healthy respect for the ages-old art of brewing to its craft—then delights in delivering a modern take on the classics to breathe new life into old styles.

A “Mad Science” philosophy lays the foundation for Sixpoint’s unique approach to brewing. It all starts with a bedrock understanding of the science behind the craft, then the Sixpoint crew adds a twist to the mix in the form of unbridled creativity. The results: an all-new level of informed innovation that delivers flavorful creations unshackled from established style guidelines.

Sixpoint’s flagship brews include its Resin Double IPA, The Crisp Pilz, Sweet Action NYC Pale Ale and Bengali IPA. Not content to be limited to a narrow range of styles, though, its brewing portfolio also features sours, stouts, goses, porters, a range of barrel-aged beauties – and lots more.

Now, after 18-plus years of pushing boundaries, Sixpoint is ready to boldly venture into the future and continue building on the community it has already created—all with the backing of like-minded partners who share a devotion to the craft.

Driven by the belief that “beer is culture”—a double-edged recognition that cultures of live microorganisms give beer its flavor, and that in turn, the flavorful product that results adds life to our society—Sixpoint’s defining characteristic might be its forward-thinking penchant for innovation. With its broad spectrum of Small Batch releases highlighting unique ingredients like ume boshi plums or locally grown mugwort, Sixpoint is always pushing the boundaries of what beer can be–and being among the first brewers to put craft beer in cans, Sixpoint is always pushing to reinvent what craft beer can mean to its fans.

Building on its efforts to contribute to the diverse culture in Brooklyn, Sixpoint has engaged in an array of community-building partnerships to promote its brand, along with local innovation in music, the visual and the culinary arts. Recent alliances along these lines have included affiliations with DUMBO’s “Live at the Archway”; entrepreneur Mike Kurtz, the founder of the much adored, Brooklyn-based Mike’s Hot Honey; and the deliciously- loved NYC staple, Magnolia Bakery.

In partnering with Artisanal Brewing Ventures in 2018, Sixpoint has enjoyed the benefits of pooled resources—and collaborative thinking. With the ABV partnership, its go-it-alone sales team grew from 10-15 people to include nearly 100, significantly boosting the brands potential. Sixpoint’s in-house staff was enabled to spend more time focusing on making beer with the clear benefits of near-constant collaboration with like-minded lovers of the brewing art.
